Three Billion Naira Set aside For Electoral Cases-INEC
The ational electoral commission (INEC) has set aside the sum of N3bn to thrash cases related to February 25 presidential and national assembly elections and the March 18 governatorial and state assembly elections in the country.
Candidates who lost in the conluded have filed cases in the courts againsting some of results declared by the commissionl in tribunals.
According to INEC about 100 election cases have been filed by some candidates and their respective political parties nationwide.
Among them were presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party,Alhaji Atiku Abubakar former vice president during Obasanjo's presidency,the Labour Party candidate mr Peter Obi, Action Alliance, Solomon Okangbuan; Allied People’s Movement, Chichi Ojei among others.
Recall that INEC had on March 1 declared the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, as the winner of the February 25 presidential election in which but five candidates called for the iled petitions nullification of their victory.
