We Are Resolute to Uplifting Nigeria's Economic Growth-CBN




The Nigeria's apex bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele, said it is resolute to stabilizing  Nigeria's financial institution as well as   access to credit among bank users.

He made the disclosure during this year's edition of the Development Finance Department (DFD) retreat of the Central bank of Nigeria  Monday 12/12/2022.

NAN reports that the theme of the retreat is “Financing for Sustainable Development in Nigeria.

The bank has come up with new  ways of  strenthening  accessibility to credit for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in recent years, deepening support for the sector in real terms and building solid equipment. 

Emefele said CBN is determined to help in  making  Nigerian economy more stable and reliable before the international community and internally.

" The future generations  will testify the good work put in place by the CBN''he said.

In his remarks, the Jigawa state Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar said the people of his have every reason to thank  CBN  for their effort to transform their lives especially in the area of rice production in Jigawa from 92,000 metric tons per year in 2015 to 1,050,000 metric tons per year in 2021.

The CBN Governor said by this progress from the  bank, Jigawa state  is capable of lifting  its rice mills from one to seven, and thousands of rice mills and  grow their gross domestic product (GDP) from 1 trillion naira in 2015 to 2.25 trillion naira in 2021," he said.

Meanwhile, his counterpart Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi, said  fiscal development is paramount to the well being of Nigerians.
