The Real Madrid’s France forward and first time Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema says dreams may come true with strong belief in the football game.
Benzema
who won the 2022 Ballon d’Or award for the best men’s player in the world on Monday
said football game requires one to be confident enough while playing for a
desired target.
He
played a pivotal role in Real Madrid’s struggle to the Champions League title
last season and is the first French player to win the trophy since the reign of
Zinedine Zidane in the year 1998, also the fifth player since the era of
Raymond Kopa, Michel Platini and Jean-Pierre Papin.
According
to him the prize makes him to take pride and rejoice for his childhood dream
comes true.
“Indeed it was a trying moment
when I wasn’t representing, never put up in his struggle to be world famous, though
it was really tough.
Benzema struck Robert Lewandowski, Sadio Mane of Senegal and
Belgium’s Kevin De Bruyne after Argentina’s Lionel Messi won the award for a
record seventh time last year.
Real
Madrid made amazing return after losing in the last-16, quarter-finals and semi-finals
against Paris St Germain, Chelsea and Manchester City respectively having Benzema scored in each of the second legs.
He
scored 44 goals in 46 games in all the competitions as he guided them to a
LaLiga and Champions League double strike.
His
15 goals in the Champions League guided Real Madrid to a record-extending 14th
title.
