Yobe state governor Mai Mala Buni has issued N5million cheque to two students of Government College, Gashua, Abdulhamid Maigari and Abubakar Mohammed, who inniciated locally harrowing and ploughing machines.
Presenting the cheque to them during a ceremony in Damaturu,
Buni said the generosity was preordained to inspire the young talented students,
hoping that
the gesture would encourage other people to come
up with more break-through.
The beneficiaries expressed their delight to
the governor and said
they would
use the funds to improve the equipment.
Gov. Buni emphasized that with the emergence of talented
students creating agricultural tools, the business of land tilting being the
primary occupation of residents would improve, saying his government attached
more importance to Agriculture.
He said the Federal Government’s policy on
agriculture will continue to boost the sector as the back bone of its economy.
