We will make Use of Sophisticated Gadgets in 2023 to make Results more Accessible and reliable - INEC

 


The Independent Electoral Commission (INEC), says it is set to make Nigeria’s general election which is believed to hold in 2023 more reliable and accurate by employing the application of contemporary technological devices.

 Chairman of the commission Prof. Mahmud Yakubu shows optimism that all was provided to make the highly anticipated election successful.

During his visit to kano state to supervise the level of progress so far achieved in the on-going Voter Registration exercise, Yakubu said his commission has opened a portal to which all the election results would sent.

Concerning the issue of initial problems, Prof. Yakubu said INEC has come up with strong measures to perfectly deal with bimodal verification accreditation BVA machine inconsistencies that occurred previously.

INEC said will continue to give maximum support to its personnel to join the rest of developed nations with sophisticated gadgets that will pave way to getting most reliable election results and reduce the rate of post-election complaints “The commission will continue to deepen the use of technology in election.

The commission has recently presented the lists of registrants for people to be exposed to the activities of INEC.

 He said Nigerians will be able to see election results from respective  polling units prior to verbal announcement.

A total of about 1million ad-hoc staffs are expected work during the general elections next year, as INEC would embark on non-political activities.
