The state command public relation officer DSP Muhammad Jalige said the command had used credible intelligence report to track down so-called movement of unlawful weapons around Mariri Village and Saminaka.
He said Kaduna state police Commissioner Yekini Ayoku, has given standing security order to barricade the area, thus led to the capture of an assumed armed brigand on July 7th, explaining that the tactical execution of this operation was in line with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Usman Alkali Baba which gave birth to the successful police function.
The apprehended racketteerer who was believed to be 25 years old was a native of Mariri Village, as confirmed by the police carrying: One Ak47 rifle with live ammunitions as well as one mobile phone he allegedly robbed from someone.
The suspect explained that he happened part of Kidnapping and cattle rustling syndicate in the area who have been operating mischievously.
IGP Alkali Baba Usman also ordered for a scrupulous investigation to fish out more kidnappers and arraign them, calling on the residents to continue proving productive intelligence to the security agencies trying to curb the menace of insecurity in Kaduna state and Nigeria at large.
