NOA OFFICIALS TRAINED ON DIGITIZATION PROGRAM- MINISTER

 

The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development has  trained officers of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) on Government Enterprise and Empowerment Program (GEEP2.0) digitization and registration in Minna Niger state.

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajiya Sadiya Umar, who was represented by the Supervisor of GEEP in Niger, Hajiya Amudatu Abdulsalam announced that this in Minna at the training center.

The training was for Community Orientation and Mobilization Officers (COMOs) of NOA who serve as desks officers of GEEP in the 25 local government areas of the state.

NAN reports that the GEEP 2.0 is designed to give access to credit support for the poor and vulnerable individuals, including persons with disability and persons at the bottom of the economic pyramid, equipping the COMOs with the new criterion of registration, the new GEEP digitization application pre-loaded on the tablets to be presented.

The minister also urged the COMOs to double their hard work in ensuring victory of the program.

She warned against extortion and threatening of beneficiaries as anyone found culpable would face the law.

These tablets are expected to be utilized for digitization meant at flawless program realization and to bring the COMOs up to date with the new strategies and necessities for phase 2 registration.

While speaking the Focal Person of the National Social Investment Program (N-SIP) in Niger state  Hajiya Amina Gu’ar, said the three components of GEEP: Tradermoni, Marketmoni and Farmermoni, are meant to impact on the lives of the poor and the vulnerable in the societies across the state.

She advised the COMOs to make a proper capture of the beneficiaries of the program, describing the training as  strengthening  the program and ensure its sustainability, tasking the trainees to pay attention to the training and practise the code of ethics of the job which included integrity, discipline, honesty and fairness, among others.
