Nigerians in Diaspora, Most brilliant - Chairman NiDCOM

 

Nigerians living in the UK and US have been described as the most sophisticated brilliants and learned people.

The Chairman Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Mrs Abike Dabiri confirmed this while announcing this year’s Diaspora Day Celebration in Abuja which was slated to take place on the 25^th of July 2022 with a theme “Diaspora Engagement in Global Challenging Times for National Development’’.

According to Mrs Dabiri, those living in Diaspora play an important role in the development of any nation on earth, thus Nigerians living abroad made enormous contribution in the development their country especially in relation to Gross Domestic Products (GDP).

She said it was in acknowledgment of that that the federal government of Nigeria set aside a special day for the celebration of Nigerian Diasporas to show them grateful the government was of their immense contribution to the nation.

NiDCOM Chairman was confident that Nigerian Diasporas have the universal experience, possessions,competences and dub hand in so many things the world stands in need of to prosper both economically and other wise.

According to her in the United States alone, the Nigerian diaspora community has been identified as the most bright and well-informed, while in the UK the smartest families are the Nigerians, quoting forme U.S. President Barack Obama as once saying, if you detach the Nigerian physicians in the U.S. its health system would crumple, as there are more than 5,000 Nigerian physicians in the country.

She also took pride in the 17 million Nigerians who contributed to national growth and in 2021 Nigeria topped the list of Diaspora Home Remittance countries in sub-Saharan Africa with 20 billion dollars.

The Chairman Nigerians in Diaspora Organization (NIDO) UK-South (also representing Europe), Susan Waya, said the diasporas had become a serious element of Nigerian development.

This is the first time NiDCOM will be launching its nation’s first National Diaspora Policy which it considered as historic in which the issue of Nigeria’s insecurity would be given a priority.
