Jigawa - Pension Board Received N1.2 billion to settle Retirees dues

 


Retirees in Jigawa state have received the sum of N1.2 billion as their entitlements through State and Local Government Contributory Pension Scheme.

The 550 retirees were those who put off works between the months of March and June this year, at both state and local government levels.

Executive Secretary of the pension board in Jigawa state, Alhaji Kamilu Aliyu told journalists in Dutse, the state capital that the payment included retirement benefit, death benefit, death pension balance and refund of eight per cent contribution.

Meanwhile Aliyu said Jigawa state Pension board was sophisticated and curious about the fate of those who served the state at all levels.

He stressed that 191 out of the retirees worked for the state, while a total of 146 served various local governments of the state.

The state retired civil servants received a total of N501 million and N213 million was expelled for the local government ex-workers.

According to him, the board is up-to-date in the payment of entitlements to retirees, including those who died in active service.
