Nigeria’s Electoral body, (INEC) has craved the indulgence of the country’s qualified voters to avoid manifold registration in the on-going Voter Registration.
The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC’s National
Commissioner in-charge of North-East, Dr Baba Bila, made the call while
monitoring the CVR exercise in some local government areas in Yola on
Wednesday.
According to the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC’s
National Commissioner in-charge of North-East, Dr Baba Bila twice registration
may result to the termination of registrations completely.
Dr Baba Bila, called on Voters to cross check their
prior to making another attempt of registration, calling on the people who made
their registration to spare time to pick the PVCs as it is only with the cards
they can be allowed to vote and be voted for in the fast approaching Nigeria’s
general elections next year.
Baba also commended the efforts of INEC’s staff
working in the North-Eastern parts of Nigeria despite cases of insecurity bedeviling
the axis
It could be identified that the recent sensitization
by divergent civil society organizations and some government agencies appeared
to be improving the turning up of more people for the registration in INEC’s
centers across the country.
