VP OSIBANJO- TRADITIONAL RULERS HAVE A ROLE IN MAKING PEACE

 


The Nigeria’s Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo says security challenges in the country can only be thrush with giant collaboration of the native leaders who know better about locals in their respective domain to help government in curtailing the menace of defenselessness.

The VP made the declaration during celebration of Olubadàn of Ibadan, Oba Olalekan Balogun’s first 100 days on the throne.

Osinbajo said for sufficient peace and harmony to rein there is a strong need of putting hands on deck with relevant authorities in fighting hooligans that were trying to disturb the normal peace of citizens across the nation.

He said apart from the inherited way of promoting culture and tradition, native authorities also have a vital role play in fishing out criminals and outlaws in the society for a greener feature of this country, just as people have the duty of respecting the traditional rulers, describing his natives as friendly and supportive as well as promoters of brotherhood.

Dignitaries present at the ceremony include the Otun Olubadàn of Ibadan, Senator Rashidi Ladoja who expressed gratitude for the organizers of the event as they establish a monument to symbolize Yoruba people as honorary and peace loving.
