NIGERIA CUSTOMS CONFISCATED ILLICIT ITEMS WORTH MILLIONS OF NAIRA


The men of Nigeria Customs Service NCS in Lagos state have announced the apprehension and hand over of illicit drugs to the officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA yesterday.

The Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Mr. Bello Jibo, said the apprehended drugs worth duty Value of about N1,481,107,671 between first two  months in this year.

He said his men are poised to be sure of healthy living of Nigerians by way of  fighting the menace of illicit drug trafficking in collaboration with all Nigeria’s National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA and other relevant agencies.

According to him the confiscated drugs comprised of  100 cartons of tramadol and 306 parcels of cannibal sativa, 132 packets of tramadol capsules, 86 packages of Apetamim syrup and 50 pieces of  yellow syrup among many huge counterfeit drugs intended to be smuggled in to the country by some unpatriotic citizens.

Also seized include about 10,865 Jerry cans of petrol which would be auctioned in line with standard operating system of unpreserved items.
