KANO- NDLEA NABS INCREDIBLE AMOUNT OF UNLAWFUL DRUGS

 

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA in  Kano State has announced  seizure of about 12,611.656 kilogram of unlawful  drugs and also apprehended 1,887 people  as of July last year to this month.

 Abubakar  Idris Ahmad,who is the Ageny’s Commander in Kano says their officials are working round the clock to stop the activities of drug invention and export, import, exportation and trafficking of psychoactive materials which lead to drug violence.

 During celebration of this year’s United nations international day against and illicit drugs trafficking in kano with theme ‘’ Addressing Drug Challenges in the Health and Humanitarian Crises’’.

The UN set aside the day to create raise awareness among citizenry concerning drug abuse and trafficking danger in human societies.

The Kano Commandant said out of 12,611.656 kilogram illegitimate drugs seized, 9,735.004 are cannabis sativa when 2,875.223 are psychotic.

He said apart from those substances, other unlawful stuff comprised of 1.123 kilogram of cocaine and some heroin, after arresting 1,887 suspects most of males,it also uncovered and smashed five farms of Cannabis in five local government areas of Kano  state, including  Fari Village in Dawakin Kudu Local Government and ‘Yan Bundu in Bichi Local Government among others.
