SSANU,NASU meet labour minister Ngige to end persistent strike

Nigerian government has resumed discussion with the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, SSANU, and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational Institutions, NASU to have  harmonious solution to the persistent industrial action in the country.

During the meeting Secretary General of NASU, Comrade Peter Adeyemi, said the meeting by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Mr Chris Ngige is elastic giving preferred results.

Recall that in March, 2022 the associations embarked upon a two weeks warning strike which afterward extended to indefinite action  for  demands which consist of the inconsistencies in payment with Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System(IPPIS), non-payment of Earned Allowances, non-payment of arrears of National Minimum Wage and its consequential adjustment.

Time without number the union had met with Nigerian government to no avail, after which they decided not to go to class or attend meeting, a development that resulted to ‘No work, No pay’ policy by the federal government.
