NIGERIAN STUDENT SOLICIT ELDERLY INTERVENTION IN EDUCATIONAL TUSSLES

The Progressive Students Movement (PSM), has  urged well-meaning Nigerians and elder statesmen to intervene in the protracted Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike .

The National President of the movement  Bestman Okereafor, made the call while commenting on the effect of the strike to Nigeria’s Educational fortune.

It could be recalled that  on Monday, May 9, ASUU extended its over two-month old strike by yet another three months which started since Feb. 14, this year.

Mr Okereafor said Nigerian students have by this time identified  the lenient attitude of the Federal Government towards the continued ASUU strike as a premeditated derision of Nigerian students and the education sector.

He said they have been moved and  consolidated on the continued ASUU strike which is doing more harm than good, especially academically as it touches  the fate  of Nigerian students.
