Nigeria’s  Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has declared that about  7.3 million registrants have not  completed their registration in the ongoing countrywide Continuous Voter Registration.

Mr Chidi Nwafor, Director of Information and Communications Technology of the commission said this when he made a presentation on the CVR at the commission’s quarterly meeting with the media in FCT Abuja today.

He added that said many Nigerian citizens  have taken chance  of the CRV, saying  INEC observed the  large number of pending uncompleted registrations in its system.

The commission that  7,389,477 of the 16,223,847 applications submitted have not been finished which means  45.5 per cent of the registrations are uncompleted.

The highest was in Bayelsa with about  67.1 per cent and the lowest was in Lagos State with 28.4 per cent.

 INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmud Yakubu, urged registrants not to relent in their effort to complete their registrations  in any of the INEC offices nearby.
