Nigeria’s President Muhammadu
Buhari appeared point blank to the leaders of the South-East that only the
court can settle on the fortune of the Indigenous People of Biafra’s leader, Mr.
Nnamdi Kanu.
He told the South-East delegation
that it is only the court that stands the chance to declare what should be done
to Mr. Kanu not the president.
The president stated this during
a meeting with leaders from the region at the New Government House in
Abakaliki, capital of the State.
The Igbo socio-cultural
organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, had somes back appealed to the president to
release Nnamdi Kanu and other members of the organization who have been in custody of Nigeria’s government.
Nnamdi Kanu was
held in June 2021 in Kenya and after warded to Nigeria where he is facing treasonable
charges.
President Buhari
said government would its best in safeguarding blameless citizens from
terrorists.
