ANAMBRA : WOMEN PROFESSIONALS ADVOCATE FOR STATE OF EMERGENCY IN EDUCATION

 

A Non-Political associated group called , the League of Achina Women Professionals, (LAW-P), has urged Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra state to declare a state of emergency in the educational sector of the state.

Mrs Chinwe Ezenwa-Mbah, President of the group made the call during an N80 million Fund Raising Ceremony to shepherd in the new executives in Lagos.

Ezenwa-Mbah urged the new government in the state to take relevant actions that would overturn the dismal situations of government-owned schools.

She also advocated the need to make education accessible to all as a cure-all to end poverty and insecurity in area.

LAW-P is a group of professional indigenous women of Achina town in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra state with a  mission  to promote sustainable health, education and socio-economic development in the area.

The group viewed as regrettable that the number of out of school children is becoming upsetting on daily basis and  is a malfunction on the part of the government.

Speaking, the first Female President of the  Scientific Products Association of Nigeria (SPAN), Mrs Kate Isa, expressed consternation that laboratory tools in secondary schools in the country are dark-ages’ lamenting that the present curriculum is outdated and cannot produce employable and innovative graduates.
